Week Six

Week six theme: "Light" ~ definitely had me scratching my head, though it's pretty obvious what you would shoot but I really wanted to interpret it a little differently, had thought of doing something with a feather (using the other meaning of 'light') but didn't have one around.  Took me almost all week to do something and since it was very late in the week, ended up with the obvious, my tealight candles, the result obviously was pretty ordinary so worked a bit of PS magic and came up with my week six shot, not my ideal but hey I at least I made it...

The originals...as you see not very spectacular.

Outtakes of the week ...

Hoping for better work next week.

Week 5 ...

Theme: Surrealism
Not sure if this image fits into "Surrealism" theme but this is as close to it as I can achieve, my imagination and photoshopping skills are not good so thought I would just let the camera capture it as best as it could ...

My interpretation ~

Week five outtakes ...

This is my original favourite and preferred shot but there is an anomaly on the bottom left of the flower, haven't figured
out what it is and thought it distracted the shot.

Love this angle but the same problem so dismissed this one as well.

This is similar angle and shot as the posted image except focus is different.

Week Four ...

When I saw that the Week Four theme from the 52 Weeks: the 2012 Edition group was "Extreme detail", the first thing that pops into my mind would be macro, one of my favourite ways to shoot.  Half way through the week I still hadn't had time to think about it then while shopping for groceries saw some blackberries on special (the thrifty shopper that I am) quickly thought that's it....so here is the result....

Berry shooting is my favourite, I just love them.  Click HERE to have a look at my last berry shot.

Week Three ...

Bought this old book from a Newtown second hand bookstore [click HERE to read a bit about this book and HERE to read a bit about the bookstore] and the magnifying glass with a double dragon design in an antique store in Singapore's Chinatown...

Life can be good, if we only let it.

Week Two ...

Taken in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia...
inside a coffee shop [not the cafe type of shop] but an instant coffee grains selling kinda shop, taste testing of all types of flavoured coffees like durian, coconut, plain, hazelnut and much much more...

My nephew seated at a bench with a large poster of
someplace in Europe that conjures up thoughts of
coffee, I gather.

Processed b&w not in-camera

Week One...

Taken in "Lau Fau Shan" in the New Territories, Hong Kong.
This is where you can taste any type of seafood that tickles your fancy, when you enter the alleyway you will find lots of different seafood restaurants where you can see the swimming in fish tanks. After you feast on your food you can continue down the laneway and reach the end where you can buy dried seafood of a lot of kinds, from salted fish to abalone, the skys the limit.

Asked a stranger for an in-camera b&w portrait.
Thank you stranger.
